Speaking in a press conference, PSG manager Christophe Galtier revealed that Keylor Navas (35) is “really frustrated” in his position as the no.2 goalkeeper at the club.
Last season, the Costa Rican international and new arrival Gianluigi Donnarumma (23) vied for the no.1 jersey. The two keepers shared game time over the course of the season, in what was a less than ideal scenario.
In May, Donnarumma said that he doesn’t expect to be in competition for the no.1 jersey next season, saying that he expects the club to “make choices” to avoid a similar situation in the 2022/23 season.
As Donnarumma becomes the undisputed first choice, naturally rumours are cirucliating surrounding Navas’ future at the club. L’Équipe have reported that they are looking to move the verteran Costa Rican on and have valued him at €10m.
However, Navas still retain the trust of new manager Galtier, even if the former is frustrated at his current situation. “I know Keylor Navas is really frustrated becasue of the situation, but I trust him as our second goalkeeper,” he said.
