— On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that the time may be right for WWE to give Elias the Intercontinental title as a way for him to establish some credibility.
— Meltzer added that Elias seems like a guy who needs a title to get that extra push whereas Seth Rollins is arguably the most popular wrestler on Raw right now and doesn’t need to carry around a belt.
— It was also noted that for storyline purposes, it might be better for Rollins to “chase” the title instead of hold it while for Elias, winning the championship and carrying on his program with Rollins will ensure he is protected and has good matches.
