Plenty of rumors and reports about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson possibly coming back to WWE soon for a match against Roman Reigns have continued to surface in recent weeks, but while The Rock’s future in the ring remains unclear, what it known is that his daughter, Simone Johnson, has expressed a serious interest in wrestling and has been training for a WWE career. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the 17-year-old has been visiting the Performance Center part time for training sessions over the past few months. It was also mentioned that Zelina Vega revealed that Simone has been training at the PC on the latest edition of the Chasing Glory podcast with Lilian Garcia. The report also says that sources from the company have implied that Johnson could be working in the Performance Center full time after she graduates high school.
There have been a number of different shows, movies, and other programs about the pro wrestling industry, but perhaps none of them have been as successful as Netflix’s GLOW series. Taking place in the defunct women’s wrestling promotion of the same name from the 1980s, GLOW has received critical acclaim from both audiences and critics for both of its seasons so far. According to PWInsider, the show just won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or Variety Program.” Shauna Duggins was presented the award, thus making her the first woman in history to win an Emmy for this category. The win from this past weekend’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards marks the first Emmy win for the series, but the show is still nominated for several other Emmy Award categories for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, which airs September 17th.

WWE’s next pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell, will be taking place this Sunday night, and the card was finalized during last night’s episode of SmackDown. Earlier this week, it was announced that Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre will defend the Raw Tag Team Championships against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose during the show this weekend, but an additional match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships has just been added. During last night’s edition of SmackDown, Rusev & Aiden English defeated Cesaro & Sheamus in the finals of a tournament to earn a tag team title match against The New Day at Hell in a Cell. It will be taking place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas this Sunday night.
