They say it’s bloody difficult to retain the title…

Antonio Conte once noted that “it is very difficult to win two titles in a row”. Football365 are about to test that theory.

After winning the FSF Online Media of the Year award last December, a website not a million miles from here has been nominated in that same category for 2018.

F365 will be up against a strong list of contenders for the award, including Copa 90, David Squires, @FootballCliches, These Football Times and Tifo.

“We are a bit chuffed,” said site editor Sarah Winterburn. “We just keep trucking on and to get another nomination is phenomenal.

“Now begins the shameless begging for votes…for us and for John Nicholson. In this situation, shame holds you back.”

“For a small group of ‘bias nonce journalists’ based in a small town in West Yorkshire, this is an absolute honour,” added Matt Stead, the bemused deputy editor.

“In all seriousness, it’s genuinely lovely. Thank you.”

The nomination comes after Daniel Storey was crowned Football Writer of the Year in 2016 – an award that our very own John Nicholson is in contention for this time around.

Johnny is also in a tough field including Barney Ronay (The Guardian), Jack Pitt-Brooke (The Independent), Jonathan Liew (The Independent), Jonathan Northcroft (Sunday Times) and Suzanne Wrack (The Guardian).

Both F365 and Johnny would really appreciate it if you could head here, show us some love and give us a vote before the deadline at midday on November 19. We’ll do 16 Conclusions on the evening, or something.
