Baron Corbin has unveiled his new ‘Happy Corbin’ persona.
On tonight’s SmackDown, Corbin arrived in a Bentley and announced that he had won it big in Las Vegas and wanted to be referred to as Happy Corbin going forward. He cut a promo in the ring saying that he deserved his change in luck and asked Big E to come out. He offered Big E $100,000 dollars to sell the Money in the Bank briefcase to him. Big E refused and told Corbin to leave, which he did.
Throughout the week, WWE had posted videos of Corbin on social media winning big money in Vegas. However, there were also videos where he had lost money, at one time staying at a motel after losing most of his winnings. In his most recent video, he had been on a losing streak again.
Character-wise, Corbin had been experiencing a downturn in luck ever since he lost his crown to Shinsuke Nakamura. As a result of that and poor investments, Corbin was close to filing for bankruptcy, appearing disheveled and asking for money. At one point. he stole Big E’s Money in the Bank briefcase. The two faced off against one another during the SummerSlam pre-show, where Big E won the match and regained possession of the briefcase.
