The unstoppable force known as Awesome Kong made her return to All Elite Wrestling this Saturday night, accompanied to the ring by the ever-enchanting Brandi Rhodes.
This wasn’t the usual all-business, AEW Chief Branding Officer that we’ve grown used to, however. We’ve seen Brandi transform over the last few weeks, snapping on ladies backstage and appearing in spooky, almost cult-like vignettes where she appears to be doing some sort of ritual sacrifice.
Kong and Rhodes marched to the ring immediately following Britt Baker’s hard-fought victory over Bea Priestley on the AEW Full Gear pre-show, and the former TNA Knockouts legend wasted zero time before destroying Priestley with her signature Implant Buster.
And… that’s where things got weird. Before leaving, Brandi held down her latest victim and pulled the strings while her big baddie took a razor blade and lopped off a chunk of Priestley’s hair.
But what are their intensions? More importantly, what the hell is actually going on? Hopefully we find out more next Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.
