The show opens up with a video package recapping the Men’s Survivor Series Elimination Match from Sunday.
We are welcomed to the show by Tom Phillips. He is joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.
Shane McMahon makes his way down to the ring. He talks about how Team Blue came up just short at Survivor Series, and even though his sister will try to spin it anyway she can, SmackDown proved that they, even in defeat, are THE show in WWE. Shane says that he is proud of the entire SmackDown roster, who came with intensity, grit, and determination every night.
They bleed blue every night with pride for all of us, except for two individuals that he’s asking to come out here right now, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. They oblige and come right out, happy as ever. Owens begins, asking what they get, death-defying Superman Shane or drunk with power Commissioner Shane? Owens Owens says that he feels for Shane, because it’s gotta be hard coming out here every week with yet another excuse as to why he’s failed.
Sami agrees, saying that it has to be exhausting before asking if coming up with the excuses or manning up and apologizing is harder. Owens says that is a really good question and says that if he were McMahon, he would be on his hands and knees apologizing for leaving them out of Survivor Series. Unlike The New Day, they would have beaten the Shield. Two on five, they would have beaten Team Raw.
And either of them could or would beaten Brock Lesnar. So why not skip the pleasantries and be a man and apologize? Shane says that they are talking to the commissioner tonight and why not shut up for the first time in their lives. The two of them have no respect for anyone in WWE, for him, or for anyone here tonight.
McMahon says that makes what he has to say next very easy. He has two words for them, and Owens says that he can’t fire them because they’re too valuable to the show. Everybody in the locker room looks up to them and every single person in this industry respects them. Zayn says that he would be a damn fool to do anything to two future Hall of Famers, and Owens continues saying that there is not one single person in the building that doesn’t think they’re the top two superstars in WWE.
Shane calls them delusional and asks if they have any idea how delusional they are to think that they are the top two superstars in WWE or if they realize that the locker room hates their guts. He calls them the most self-absorbed megalomaniacs to ever step foot in WWE and he asks them to come closer and gives them the big McMahon wind-up, “YOU’RE–“
Daniel Bryan interrupts and makes his way down to the ring. He says that Shane has every right to fire them, but before he does he should put his personal feelings aside. This gets Sami ranting and Bryan tells him to shut up, and he moots a better temporary solution to voiding their contracts. Everybody hates their guts, sure, and Randy Orton had to be sent home because he said that he wouldn’t be responsible for what he might do if he saw them.
The New Day are furious, too, and so they have a match against the New Day to prove that they were right when they said they could beat anyone on any night. Sami complains about it being a handicap and Bryan tells him to shut up again, saying he wasn’t done, and it will be a lumberjack match.
Commentary hypes up our SmackDown Women’s Championship rematch as well as an appearance from AJ Styles later tonight before cutting to Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin and The Usos walking backstage ahead of a singles match between Jey Uso and Shelton to send us to a commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, we get some still pictures recapping Survivor Series.
Jey Uso vs. Shelton Benjamin: Chad Gable and Jimmy Uso are at ringside for this one. Benjamin and Jey lock up off the opening bell and they end up throwing blows in the corner. Shelton drops Jey Uso with a shoulder tackle. Jey Uso puts up a fight, but Shelton decks him again, this time with a flying knee to the face. Shelton controls the next few moments of the match until Jey fires back with a Samoan Drop. Gable and Jimmy now get into it at ringside, while Shelton and Jey go at it in the ring. Jey hits a superkick for a two count. More distraction from Gable and Jimmy leads to Jey Uso staying in control, but Shelton counters a shot off the top rope and comes back with The Paydirt for the three count. Winner: Shelton Benjamin
After the match, Shelton Benjamin rolls to the floor and leaves with Chad Gable. Shelton Benjamin has his arms raised in the air as Jey recovers at ringside with Jimmy.
We head backstage where we see Owens and Zayn telling someone that they will come for him eventually and asking if they have a friend. It’s Baron Corbin and he asks what’s in it for him. They say that it’s the principle of the thing, and Corbin doesn’t buy it, telling them to find somebody more weak-minded. Owens says that it’s worth a try and they roll up on Bobby Roode.
They ask if he wants to be somebody or just one of Shane McMahon’s pawns. They pitch him on being different, like they are, and he unloads on them, calling them out of their minds and pointing out that he was in the match that they ruined on Sunday. Not only did they ruin it for him, but for the entire SmackDown locker room. Roode says that he will see them out there, and he owes them both a receipt.
We get a little hype for The debut of The Bludgeon Brothers for later tonight and we go to a commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, Naomi is getting her makeup touched up.
She says that she is bummed that they didn’t win at Survivor Series, but it felt good to see Charlotte Flair beat Alexa Bliss. Ruby Riot show up next to her and she says that she wants to introduce her friends Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. Ruby says that they just came here to say, then a beat-down ensues. They put Naomi into road cases and they kept stomping when Becky Lynch attacked them from behind and they gave her the same treatment.
They threw her over the table and into the wall. Liv throws the table at her. They trap her in a door and slam it on her a few times. Referee Dan Engler shows up to call for a doctor and they walk off. The damage has been done.
We head to another are backstage where Shane McMahon is talking with Daniel Bryan about what a great idea he had for Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, also talking about how he expects Bryan is going to fire them after they get the crap kicked out of them by everybody. In fact, he is just gonna go back to the hotel and watch everything unfold from there.
The Hype Bros make their way down to the ring and they will wrestle The Bludgeon Brothers after the commercial break.
Back from the commercial break and we are in time for The Bludgeon Brothers to make their entrance.
The Hype Bros vs. The Bludgeon Brothers: Rowan starts off the match with Mojo and runs him over. Harper takes out Ryder on the floor and sends him into the steel ring steps. Mojo tries to mount some offense but he gets put away with a double crucifix bomb for the win. Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers
After the match, Rowan and Harper stand tall in the ring.
We head backstage where Natalya is being interviewed about the changing landscape of the women’s division, and she says that the only change that matters is when she beats Charlotte Flair for the title. Natalya says that she is running high off the biggest week of her career, and she will give her credit for that, seeing as it’s almost impossible to beat her. Ric Flair coming out and blubbering was disgusting, and she beat Alexa Bliss, who 2Pawz could also beat.
Flair thinks she’s Wonder Woman, and Natalya wonders which woman is gonna knock her off her perch and give Ric something to really cry about. Natalya claims that she will be champion forever to close the interview out.
AJ Styles will call out Jinder Mahal after the commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, we get a recap of the match between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar from this past Sunday.
AJ Styles makes his way down to the ring, a little worse for wear for the war he and Brock put each other through this past Sunday.
He gets on the mic and he lets the crowd chant for a minute before saying he wishes that he could be out here celebrating after slaying the Beast, but it didn’t go down how he wanted. Not because he didn’t try, he hit him with every trick in the book, but Brock is every bit the Beast you think he is. Here’s the crazy thing though, phone calls, texts, tweets, after the match. They all said “Congratulations, AJ Styles, you went one-on-one with the Beast and held your own.”
Even Paul Heyman respected his efforts, but here’s the thing, this is WWE and you don’t get trophies for second place. But after his match at Survivor Series, he wasn’t the one limping to the back, so if you ever want to have a rematch, remember this, in Rocky II, he wins. Onto other matters, Jinder Mahal said that he was gonna take the title away from him on SmackDown.
He tells Jinder alright, this is his title, he’s here right now, come and take it. Mahal appears on the tron and says that he would love to but he’s busy watching the Brock match over and over on the WWE Network. Two weeks ago Styles took advantage of him, and had he faced Lesnar, he’d be standing there hailed as the Beastmaster. AJ points out how stupid that sounds and says he seems well-rested, he didn’t do anything at Survivor Series.
Jinder says that he will take his rematch at his time, when he wants, and he’s the man that had 1.3 billion people of the great nation of India looking up to the Modern-Day Maharaja. He calls Styles a disrespect and says that they will clash in a place more deserving than Texas. Jinder says that he will be invoking his rematch clause at Clash of Champions. Jinder laughs and The Singh Brothers blindside AJ Styles.
Styles manages to turn the beating around on them, throwing Sunil to the floor and cracking Samir across the dome-piece with the Pele kick before setting him up for The Styles Clash.
We head backstage where Owens and Zayn are walking looking for help when they roll up on Rusev and Aiden English in the locker room. Aiden is holding a private concert for the Bulgarian Brute and the Canadians applaud his singing. Sami says that everybody else is getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, but they don’t buy into that crap and would much rather celebrate Rusev Day.
Owens says that they get each other and that what they did at Survivor Series was about teaching Shane a lesson about not overlooking his strongest assets. Like how Rusev’s match to qualify for the team was canceled and John Cena made the team without lifting a finger. And who doesn’t understand them? The New Day. Sami says that The New Day are jealous that Rusev Day is more popular than The New Day.
They ask that they keep that in mind tonight and they take their leave.
Commentary informs us that our SmackDown Women’s Championship match will happen after the commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, we get a video footage of The Usos doing a WWE Shop commercial in a way only The Usos can.
Charlotte (c) vs. Natalya: The SmackDown Women’s Title is on the line in this one. Natalya is fired up right out of the gate and takes down Charlotte. Charlotte fires back with some chops to the chest and Natalya answers with a clothesline. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter early on, but Charlotte escapes. Natalya slams Charlotte face-first into the turnbuckle and works on keeping her grounded. Charlotte starts to fire up, but Natalya shuts her down with a sit down powerbomb for a two count. Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter but Charlotte reaches the ropes to break the hold. Charlotte comes back with a backbreaker and a shot face-first into the turnbuckle. The Champion goes up top for a moonsault, but Natalya gets her knees up to block it. Charlotte hits a spear and Natalya rolls outside for a breather. Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan run in through the crowd and beat down Natalya at ringside. The referee calls for the bell. Winner via DQ: Natalya
After the match, the fans chant for NXT as the three continue to beat down Natalya on the floor. Flair watches from the ring. They stalk Flair now. The three hit the ring but Flair fights them off until the numbers game catches up with her. They take turns on Flair and lay her out before standing tall with their arms in the air.
From there, we go to another commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, we get a recap of what just happened to end the title match.
We head backstage where Dasha approaches Daniel Bryan for an interview. He says that what just happened is an interesting situation but he doesn’t have a comment. Owens and Zayn show up and Owens says that they know they’re getting ripped limb from limb tonight, and Sami reminds him how valuable they are and says firing them will be the biggest mistake he’s ever made.
Bryan wishes them luck and takes his leave.
Shinsuke Nakamura, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, Bobby Roode, The Ascension, Tye Dillinger, Rusev, Aiden English, The Colons, Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin, Sin Cara, Mike Kanellis, Breezango and WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin who are all going to be The lumberjacks for the main event comes out and surrounds the ring. The New Day hands out pancakes to the fans as they make their way down to the ring and we go to a commercial break.
Back from the commercial break, we get a few more still pictures recapping Survivor Series this past Sunday.
Commentary then informs us that AJ Styles will wrestle The Singh Brothers in a handicap match next week, plus the return of the Fashion Files.
The New Day vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn: Owens starts off and sends Kofi to the outside early on. The lumberjacks leave Kofi alone and let him go back in the ring on his own. Zayn tags in now and goes at it with Kofi. Zayn gets dumbed outside and the lumberjacks start beating on him. Sami tries to run away up the ramp, but the lumberjacks grab him and physically put him back in the ring. Owens tags in and The New Day uses frequent tags to control the match. They do the Unicorn Stomp on Owens in the corner. Owens connects with a shot on Kofi, then tags in Sami. Sami stomps on Kofi in the corner, then he pulls him out for a short-arm clothesline for a two count. Owens comes back in now and head-butts Kofi down, then stomps on his hand. Owens goes for a senton bomb but Kofi blocks it with his knees. Big E gets the tag and Sami tags in too. Big E hits a series of belly to belly overhead suplexes, then runs the ropes and hits the splash.
Big E goes for a running powerslam but Sami escapes. Sami drops Big E in the turnbuckle, but Big E fires back with an elbow to the face. Kofi tags in and hits a flying cross body. Owens breaks up the tag, then Big E runs in and they collide with a double clothesline. All four competitors are down. Kofi dumps Sami outside and he crashes into a couple of lumberjacks. Corbin misses a shot on Sami, and he accidentally cracks Roode in the face. Now the lumberjacks start fighting each other at ringside. The lumberjack fight spills into the ring and all Hell breaks loose. The dust settles and Kofi knocks Owens outside, then Zayn runs up behind Kofi and rolls him up for the three count. Winners: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
After the match, Owens and Zayn try to escape, but Big E confronts them and blocks their way. Rusev runs in and decks Big E, allowing Owens to escape through the crowd. Kofi hits a splash off the top on Rusev and English at ringside. Zayn tries to escape through the crowd next, but Xavier grabs him and carries him back into the ring. Zayn is surrounded by Big E, Kofi, and Xavier. The New Day starts beating him down, with Kofi hitting the Trouble In Paradise, then Woods and Big E hitting the Midnight Hour. The New Day taunts Zayn on the mat
We see Owens storming through the backstage area. He finds Daniel Bryan and begs him not to fire them. Bryan asks if he’s at all concerned about what just happened to his partner. Owens says he is, and that Sami wants to know too. Owens gets on his knees and begs, but Bryan says he was never going to fire them. Bryan says he recognizes their talent, and Owens better show up next week because he’s going to face to face Randy Orton. Owens starts to protest, but ends up just thanking Bryan and walking off. Bryan smiles as SmackDown goes off the air.
