After spending three years disqualified from competing due to
numerous head injuries that he suffered throughout his career, Daniel
Bryan was cleared to return to action nearly one year ago. Bryan had
already managed to regain the WWE Championship, and the belief is that
he may defend the title at WrestleMania 35 this April. Although there
was some fear last year that he would end up leaving WWE and start
competing for a different promotion, Bryan ultimately ended up signing a
new contract with the company. Details surrounding the new deal between
Bryan and WWE have remained securely guarded up until now. “The
Planet’s Champion’s” WWE contract length was just revealed on television last night.
On last night’s episode of Total Bellas on the E! network, the events within the show took place around the time when Daniel Bryan renewed his deal with WWE. During a conversation with his wife, Brie Bella, Bryan mentioned that he had a guaranteed contract with WWE for three years. Since Bryan re-signed with WWE in September of last year, he will be staying onboard with WWE until at least late 2021. Bryan is set to defend the WWE Championship against Mustafa Ali, Randy Orton, Andrade, Jeff Hardy, and Samoa Joe in an Elimination Chamber match during the pay-per-view of the same name this Sunday night. If he can win that match, Bryan will be one step closer to defending the title at WrestleMania 35.
While most members of The Elite have matches scheduled for the Double or Nothing event from All Elite Wrestling now, AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes still does not have a match for the event. The main reason for this is because Cody is out right now with a knee injury. Rhodes wrestled on ROH’s Final Battle show and at Wrestle Kingdom 13 back in January, but he has remained inactive since then. Cody even reiterated to a fan on Twitter that he won’t be wrestling again until he has had surgery on his knee. According to Rhodes, he will be undergoing surgery later on today. Hopefully, Cody Rhodes will be able to recover quickly and have a match on All Elite Wrestling’s historic first official show this May.

Surgery is a must, I can’t afford to have another stinker like the dome match. https://t.co/RYCIl4xAQK
