Thierry Henry hints at move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi as his Monaco revamp continues

Thierry Henry has hinted he could sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this month as his overhaul of the Monaco squad continues.

The Frenchman has already moved quickly to sign Cesc Fabregas – with that deal set to be confirmed in the coming days.

talkSPORT also reported Monaco made a move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, but the 33-year-old has opted to stay with the Gunners.

It is no surprise Henry is on the hunt for new recruits as his side are enduring a shocking season in Ligue 1, where they are currently in 19th position.

The move could suit both parties too, with Batshuayi seemingly out of favour at Stamford Bridge and Henry desperate for some added attacking power in his ranks.

Speaking about a potential move for the Blues misfit, the Monaco boss said: “We have worked together with Belgium. We will see what happens. But he could be an interesting player. For sure.”

Batshuayi has had a disappointing season in Spain with Valencia, having scored three goals in 23 appearances for the Mestalla side this season before his loan was terminated

Meanwhile, Everton are also monitoring the situation of the Belgian, with Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse struggling for goals at Goodison Park.
