Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp could sign Mats Hummels, Rafael Camacho set for exit, Abdulkadir Omur deal unlikely

Liverpool have been linked with a number of players as they bid to strengthen both their squad and position at the top of the Premier League table.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have suffered two defeats in as many matches, which included being dumped out the FA Cup by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The loss highlighted the issues they have in defence and it is there which they will hope to reinforce before January is out.

But what does all the latest gossip concerning Liverpool say? Find out below

Liverpool may turn to Mats Hummels to solve defensive crisis

After Dejan Lovren was forced off in the 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Wolves, it left Liverpool looking slightly threadbare at the back with both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip both already injured.

Virgil van Dijk is the only available senior centre-back and former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft tweeted his suggestion as to who the league leaders could turn to.

“Will Liverpool take a centrehalf on loan now? Maybe Hummels. Not playing at Bayern. Klopp knows him of course,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

Klopp signed Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich for Borussia Dortmund in January 2008 with the pair winning two Bundesliga titles and the DFB-Pokal, as well as reaching the Champions League Final, during their time together at the club.

Hummels has found himself out of favour at the Allianz Arena this season, starting just eight Bundesliga games.

Rafael Camacho set to quit the club days after making his debut

The teenager is set to leave Anfield just days after being handed his senior debut.

Camacho appears ready to seal a move away from Merseyside in the coming days and join Sporting in his hometown of Lisbon.

A deal is believed to have been agreed which would see Camacho sign for Sporting on loan until June 2020 – with his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of that month.

Liverpool unlikely to sign Abdulkadir Omur

A deal for Trabzonspor winger Abdulkadir Omur is unlikely to happen after the club stated that Liverpool had not made a substantial offer.

The Reds have been linked with a £27million swoop for the talented 19-year-old who has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’.

Omur said: “Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss.

“If the club give the go-ahead, talks can be held. The club’s interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the club’s best interests.

“If the club say leave, I’ll leave. If they say stay, I’ll stay.”

Omur, who is under contract until 2022, enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2017/ appearing 32 times for Trabzonspor.

French goalkeeper Dominique Youfeigane interesting Klopp

Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on highly-rated goalkeeper Dominique Youfeigane.

The France youth international, who is only tied to Guingamp on a trainee contract, has also attracted the interest of fellow Premier League sides Leicester and Brighton, while French giants Marseille and Monaco are also keen.
