Arsenal submit improved €45m bid for Thomas Lemar

Premier League side Arsenal have submitted a second, improved bid for AS Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar, according to L’Équipe.

Arsène Wenger knows that AS Monaco are tough negotiators but he has not given up on signing the 21 year old attacking midfielder, who currently has three years remaining on his current contract.

AS Monaco are expected to reject this improved bid, which will disappoint both Thomas Lemar who wants the move and Arsenal.

Lacazette and Lemar know each other well and have a good friendship. They have been speaking regularly since they were last together with the French national team.

The French newspaper reports that Wenger could come back with a 3rd bid, but Monaco really have no intention of selling at present.

Arsenal are the only side to have made a concrete effort to sign Lemar, but Manchester United, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are tending towards becoming more active on this particular player, the report claims.
