Liverpool have in recent hours submitted an opening offer worth just below €60m for Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fékir, according to Le Parisien, whose reliability in terms of football transfers is somewhat mixed.
As it stands, a deal is believed not to be close for multiple reasons: the player and his entourage are not entirely certain, Lyon are in no rush and believe that they can incited a post-World Cup bidding war and the fee itself is lower than what OL want (sources indicating that this would be a package worth €70m plus bonuses).
Ultimately, it is becoming increasingly likely that the Fékir saga will rumble on into the summer, unless Liverpool blow Lyon out of the water with a much improved second bid.
From the Lyon side, talks are not seen as being at a serious stage.
