Nice-Matin report that Monaco defender Benoît Badiashile is once again the subject of interest from clubs across the continent in this transfer window, with La Liga side Sevilla notably a contender for the French defender.
The centre-half, who made 24 appearances and scored once in what was an injury-blighted season for him, remains on the radar of the likes of Atlético Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle.
The Magpies in particular were looking to buy the defender in January in the wake of their Saudi Arabian takeover, with a €45m offer on the table, but Sven Botman’s move from Lille to the north east of England makes another attempt this summer unlikely.
West Ham were also once in the race for the French youth international, but in similar fashion have already secured their Ligue 1 defensive signing for the summer in the form of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes.
The Principality club are looking for a fee in the region of €50m-€60m from either one of the potential suitors, and do not necessarily need to sell given Aurélien Tchouaméni’s €100m move to Real Madrid.
Badiashile will not push for a move and has no intention of going against the wishes of his formative club. Wherever he goes, he wants to find playing time so as to continue his development.
