Papy Djilobodji: “Part of my dream is coming true”

Speaking to Nantes’ official website, Chelsea’s new signing Papy Djilobodji confirmed that his dreams were coming true by sealing the deadline day move.”

What a moment!

It is a part of my dream that is coming true. The road was very long, but I have not arrived yet. I need to continue to work, to respect everyone and to show what I am capable of.

Are you proud of your time at Nantes?

Yes I am very proud of what I did at Nantes, and very happy. I could not have done better. I gave the best of myself. Even when I was injured, I wanted to play.

What memories will you keep with you from your time at Nantes?

I will keep good memories, certainly. The President, his son Franck, the people who worked in the office, the coaches, the youngsters at the youth academy… I cannot name them all, but they have all been there.

The President Kita was like my father and Franck like my brother. I want to thank them for what they have done for me. They helped me a lot for my transfer. We will stay in touch.

Nantes will always be in my heart. I will be the first fan. I hope that you will have a good season and reach your aims.

Any words for the fans?

They are from another world. They are truly remarkable. I than them and hope that they continue to push the club, even when it is hard. Even when I will watch Nantes matches, I will also watch the fans!

I want to apologise to the fan that I had some problems with at Lens… it was a long time ago, but I want to say sorry.

The Premier League is a new world for you…
