L’Équipe report this afternoon that 31-year-old attacker Hatem Ben Arfa is closing in on signing for a new club, currently a free agent after his deal with PSG finished last June.
After several approaches at the beginning of the summer, Rennes have come back in strong in the final days of the summer transfer window. Ben Arfa has spoken with Rennes boss Sabri Lamouchi about his potential role in SRFC’s squad, but the Breton side will face competition from OGC Nice.
Les Aiglons have recently made fresh contact for HBA, having notably been responsible for the re-ignition of his career in 2015-16. Nice representatives want Ben Arfa to play alongside Mario Balotelli.
Ben Arfa has interest from abroad, with Benfica and Sporting Portugal both interested, but is seems very likely that he will chose between Rennes and Nice.
