Téléfoot Chaine report that Ligue 1 side Marseille are in talks to sign 23-year-old French attacker Jean-Philippe Mateta from Bundesliga club Mainz.
OM have been in talks to try to sign Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli, but their demands are too considerable for Marseille. Mateta has scored 10 goals in 16 matches so far this season and is under contract until June 2023.
The outlet claims that Mainz wouldn’t be totally against a loan with option to buy arrangement, for a player who is also being chased by Italian and German clubs.
