Speaking in the post-match press conference on Wednesday following defeat vs Strasbourg, Rennes manager Bruno Genesio pointed to a potential lack of maturity on the part of his players.
“Maybe our team lacks a bit of maturity. Only 8 points against the 7 best teams? These are numbers that talk. Is it a mental problem or something else? It is difficult to answer. I often pumped the brakes when people spoke to me about the Champions’ League, 2nd place, or being the best team in the league. We did very good things, but we also have a team that is in the process of learning about the highest level. Hopefully we will learn quickly to finish the season well.”
