PSG remain interested in Hugo Ekitike as talks for Gianluca Scamacca stall

RMC Sport report this afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain remain in contact with the entourage of Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, as talks for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca stall in the face of the Italian side’s high asking price for the Azzurri man.

As confirmed by sources contacted by Get French Football News last week, the 23-year-old was among three players that the Ligue 1 champions had agreed personal terms in principle with, along with Milan Škriniar and Renato Sanches.

The Neroverdi’s asking prince of €50m will have to be lowered if PSG are to move forward with a deal, even if sporting advisor Luis Campos travelled to Italy a few days ago to meet with the player and his entourage to lay out the club’s project.

In the meantime, as reported by Foot Mercato as well, Campos also sees Ekitike as a potential Kylian Mbappé backup. The 20-year-old, who scored 10 goals last season, was notably the subject of interest from Newcastle in January and again this summer.
