Unlikely Name Rumored for WWE Hall of Fame Induction

According to PWInsider.com, rumors making the rounds this week claim former WWE star and TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett might be heading into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

As we noted several months ago, Jarrett wrestled at an independent event and was described as in no condition to compete, leading to Jarrett entering WWE sponsored rehab.

The induction of Jarrett might seem unlikely, as he has a rocky past with WWE, and of course attempted to compete with the company during his time in TNA/Impact Wrestling.

To reiterate, Jeff Jarrett possibly entering the WWE Hall of Fame this year should be taken strictly as rumor for now, but if he does indeed receive an induction, he will join Kurt Angle and Sting as the only other dual TNA and WWE Hall of Famers.

As of this writing, WWE has announced Bill Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz and Ivory as 2018 WWE Hall of Fame inductees. As noted, other rumored names for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class include Bam Bam Bigelow, Mark Henry and a celebrity wing induction for Kid Rock.

Jeff Jarrett left the then-WWF back in October of 1999, after the company’s head writer Vince Russo left for WCW. Controversy surrounded Jarrett’s exit from WWE, as he faced Chyna for the Intercontinental Title one day after his WWF contract officially expired. Chyna later alleged that Jarrett and Russo intentionally delayed the title match until after Jarrett’s contract expired, and extorted Vince McMahon for $300,000 to wrestle without a deal. Jarrett ended up dropping the IC Title to Chyna at No Mercy and subsequently left the company.
