It was announced last week by none other than Daniel Bryan that the WWE 205 Live brand would be getting an authority figure for the very first time, in the form of a new General Manager. The hope is to bring back a little order and prestige to the show, which has seen a long list of controversy and inconsistency over the last few months.
Bryan returned to WWE 205 Live this Tuesday night in order to introduce us all to the brand new GM… ROCKSTAR SPUD! The former Impact Wrestling star has finally arrived in WWE after weeks of rumor and speculation, and will be leading the Cruiseweight division back to prominence. Spud has been given a new name and will now be going by “Drake Maverick”, which sort of sounds like something 12-year-old me would have named his video game Create-a-Wrestler.

Maverick wasted little time making his presence felt, announcing a 16-man single elimination tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion, with the finals culminating at WrestleMania 34!
