UPCOMING WEEKEND EVENTS
There are a number of different and unique major events this weekend. The NCAA wrestling tournament began today in Madison Square Garden with two sessions. The entire tournament is on ESPN 3. Tomorrow night and Saturday night they will air the semifinals and finals on ESPN. CMLL’s Dos Leyendas show will be on iPPV tomorrow night starting at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time. You can order the CMLL here. Both New Japan and Pro Wrestling NOAH have major shows, although New Japan World is not scheduled to air the Nagoya show. UFC runs Sunday in Brisbane, which is Saturday night prime time in the U.S.
URshow.TV has the unique mixed boxing, pro wrestling, MMA and grappling show Sunday on iPPV. Tank Abbott failed his physical by the Arizona Boxing and MMA Commission so they are looking at the last minute for a new opponent for Dan Severn. Tank Abbot was replacing the previously scheduled Ken Shamrock. This show also features Roy Jones, Jr in a boxing match against a fan/contest winner (Vyron Philips) for a chance to win $100k, Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio are scheduled for a pro wrestling match on the show along with Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping in a grappling match. Chael and Bisping were both guests on Josh Nason’s Punch Out! Check it out!

THURSDAY NEWS UPDATE
As things stand right now, New Day vs. League of Nations match at WrestleMania appears to be a three vs. four handicap match. Originally it was a six-man tag.
Dwayne Johnson and Mark Walhberg are being sued for $200 million on the claim that they took the idea for the TV show Ballers from the plainfitts work “Off Season.” The lawsuit had been filed some time ago, but the $200 million figure just came out earlier in the week. More here.
In the Hogan vs. Gawker trial, attempts by Gawker to play the entire 30 minute sex tape before the jury were turned down. The court ruled Gawker could only have the 1 minute and 41 seconds they had posted shown to the jury. Closing arguments in the case are set for tomorrow. More on the case.
Impact on Tuesday night did 307,000 viewers for the 8 p.m. show and 123,000 for the 9 p.m. replay. It was the largest total in seven weeks for the show and the replay was the biggest number since moving to Pop TV. It shows that at this stage, being almost live does help TNA’s numbers. In the past it has made no difference.
Funeral services for Gary “Charlie” Fulton will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Marion, OH at the Marion Cemetery. It is requested that any donations be made in his memory to the Marion Area Humane Society.

Superstar Billy Graham was scheduled to be coming to WrestleMania in Dallas but he broke a bone graft and was at risk of a dislocation of his artificial hip and is not allowed to travel.
Chris Jericho appeared on The Weather Network’s Celebrity Forecast this week.
WWE stock had a big day, closing up 87 cents per share to $18.74.

UFC/MMA
A new fight for UFC 200 in the works is Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson. Another fight also not announced but in the works for that show is Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne.
On UFC Tonight last night they reported that UFC is interested in using Cris Cyborg on the 5/14 soccer stadium show in Curitiba, Brazil. We talked extensively about that last night on the audio show.
Former bantamweight champion Renan Barao is moving to featherweight to face Jeremy Stephens on a 5/29 show. The location for the show has not been announced.
A special on the first Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier fight will be airing on Monday night at 10:30 p.m. on FS 1.

Mackenzie Dern, a world champion in BJJ, will be making her MMA debut with Legacy FC on a 7/22 show in Dallas that will air on AXS. Dern will fight at 115. She won the 132 pound division title at the 2015 Abu Dhabi championships as well as the World Jiu Jitsu championship last year at 130 pounds.
