Crown Jewel Decision Imminent, Vega Joins Evolution, SD Change

WWE’s upcoming Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia quickly became controversial due largely to the Saudi’s reported involvement in the recent death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. WWE has commented on the matter by informing fans that they are “monitoring the situation” at the moment, but as of now, the company has not cancelled the upcoming event, which several fans have called on WWE to do. According to a new report from The Wrap, a decision from WWE on whether or not the show will be taking place could be coming as soon as tomorrow. The company is now said to be waiting on the nation of Turkey to release the details of their investigation into Khashoggi’s death. Stay tuned for the latest updates on Crown Jewel.
A large number of women have been announced for the battle royal that will be taking place during WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view this weekend. In addition to several members of WWE’s current roster, the likes of Kelly Kelly, Alundra Blayze, Torrie Wilson, Molly Holly, and Ivory have all been confirmed to return to the ring for the match. It appears now that one more woman has entered the match. It was announced on WWE’s website yesterday that SmackDown Superstar Zelina Vega will officially take part in the battle royal. A graphic which later aired during Raw last night also showed that Vega will indeed be featured in the match. Vega will be back in the ring during the Evolution show on Sunday night.

During Raw last night, a commercial for tonight’s SmackDown show confirmed a few of the matches and segments that are planned for the evening. One previously announced match was a singles bout between Mandy Rose and Naomi. With only a few more hours left to go until SmackDown goes live on the air, WWE made a small change to the match. According to WWE, the match will now be a tag team match which will see Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville team up to take on the team of Naomi & Asuka. The match will be featured on SmackDown later on tonight, which will also serve as the final edition of the show before WWE’s all-women’s Evolution pay-per-view airs on the WWE Network this weekend.
