What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is basically a Black Friday sale in July — but in order to take advantage of the savings, you have to be an Amazon Prime member. (If you aren’t already, make sure you sign up for a 30-day free trial here.)
For the past three years, Amazon has slashed prices in a big way on Prime Day. In its first year, 2015, the event netted Amazon 34.4 million orders. This year, it seems Prime members should prepare themselves for the most epic savings to date: “More than 100 million paid Prime members around the world will find our best Prime Day celebration yet,” says Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2018?
The first official Prime Day deals will go up at 3 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, July 16 and run all day Tuesday before expiring at 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Amazon will be posting some pre-Prime Day deals before Monday, and these leaked deals are available to Prime members leading up to the big day.
What kinds of deals will be featured?
In 2017, Patch readers saved big on everything from electronics to kitchen essentials to fashion. Last year’s best sellers included Instant Pots, 23andMe DNA tests, Amazon Echos, tablets and more.
