While Nirav Modi is away from India, security agencies, in a bid to build a strong case against him are leaving no stone unturned. Meanwhile, the Income Tax department has decided to reassess the ITRs of over 50 high net-worth individuals (HNIs) who purchased costly jewellery from firms owned by absconding diamantaire Nirav Modi, official sources said on Friday.
According to reports, the taxman decided to initiate the step after a number of people, who were sent notices denied any cash payment made by them to Nirav Modi’s firms.
