Just like a post-breakup makeover, when you’re an actress, saying goodbye to the character you played for six years also calls for a new hairstyle. Jemima Kirke pulled a major hair change-up after wrapping up filming the last season of HBO’s Girls: A sleek, shorter bob.

Kirke debuted the chic cut on Instagram in a post by co-star Allison Williams who captioned it, “When cool kids grow up, they just become cooler kids.” The chic cut is quite the departure from Kirke’s character Jessa, who has rocked long, flowing, wavy hair throughout the show’s six seasons, and it looks like she took her blonde color a few shades brighter too. Although we’ll miss Jessa’s free spirit, it looks like Kirke is full embracing her post-Girls era and we can’t wait to see what badass beauty moves she’ll do next.
