Tottenham’s first major transfer of the January 2019 window was completed earlier this week, with Mousa Dembele leaving Spurs for Guangzhou R&F.
The Belgium midfielder ended his six-and-a-half year stay in north London to pen terms with the Chinese Super League side, for a fee believed to be in the region of £11million.
Dembele’s departure coincides with, and worsens, a selection crisis Mauricio Pochettino is currently facing.
Harry Winks has been left as the only fit central midfielder in Pochettino’s squad, while there is just one senior striker, Fernando Llorente, the Argentine can call upon with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura injured, and Heung-Min Son away on international duty.
Tottenham are expected to delve into the transfer market to strengthen Pochettino’s thinning squad, but they now have less than a fortnight to get signings over the line.
But who could Spurs be bringing in this month? talkSPORT.com rounds up all the latest transfer gossip concerning Spurs, below…
Offer made to Giuseppe Rossi
One of Tottenham’s priorities this month is to solve their striker crisis with Kane, Lucas and Son all unavailable right now.
One option for Spurs is reportedly a pay-as-you-play deal for Giuseppe Rossi, the former Italy forward, who is currently training with Manchester United as he searches for a new club.
Tuttosport claim an approach has already been made by Tottenham for the 31-year-old ex-Red Devil, who would join the club on a short-term basis.
Tottenham could enter Callum Wilson race
Another option for Tottenham could be a swoop for Bournemouth striker Wilson, who has also been linked with Spurs’ London rivals West Ham and Chelsea.
It is reported by The Mirror that Spurs could get involved in the race to sign the England international, though it is believed Wilson will cost upwards of £50million.
Wilson, 26, has scored nine Premier League goals this season, but has netted just once in his previous five appearances.
Chelsea and Manchester City want Eriksen
The Sun report that Christian Eriksen has become a target for Chelsea and Manchester City.
Denmark international Eriksen has already been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona as questions linger over his future in north London, but he could yet remain in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old has 18 months remaining on his contract and little progress has been made in talks over a new deal.
Nabil Fekir a target
Tottenham have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race for Nabil Fekir, the Lyons and France attacker.
It is believed Spurs’ interest in Fekir is due to the aforementioned Eriksen potentially leaving north London, with the 25-year-old seen as a perfect replacement in Mauricio Pochettino’s system.
A Calciomercato report insists Tottenham are keen on Fekir, who was set to join Liverpool last summer before his transfer to Anfield collapsed at the eleventh hour.
Spurs facing fight to sign Leeds wonderkid
Jack Clarke, the Leeds starlet, is being tracked by a number of Premier League sides as he enjoys a breakout season in the Championship.
Tottenham are one of the teams looking at the 18-year-old winger, as well as Manchester City, while Crystal Palace are believed to have had a bid for Clarke rejected by Leeds.
There are still two-and-a-half years left to run on Clarke’s contract at Elland Road, and Leeds are not rushing to tie him down to an extended deal.
Talks with Barcelona to sign winger
Tottenham are ‘already negotiating’ with Barcelona over the potential signing of Malcom, the Brazil forward, according to reports.
The 21-year-old wide player has failed to establish himself at Camp Nou since joining last summer for £36.5million, and Barca are ready to let him leave this month.
Sport claim talks are being held between the two clubs over Spurs signing Malcom on loan for the remainder of the season, with the view of buying him outright in the summer.
