Sadio Mane insists Liverpool will hold their nerve and win the Premier League title this season.
The Reds forward fired a bold message to title rivals Manchester City by insisting: “We won’t choke.”
Liverpool are currently four points clear at the top of the league as they bid to end 29 years without top-flight glory.
However, last time they found themselves in such a promising position, Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip against Chelsea was the start of a collapse which saw City clinch the title in 2014.
And Mane has categorically ruled out a repeat of that painful episode.
“This is not a team of chokers. We will be champions,” he said.
“I am sure we will be champions of England.
“When I wake up, I don’t go to the training ground thinking we will not win.
“We are determined to show we are the best team in the league.”
