Huddersfield Town manager latest: The favourites to become next permanent boss ranked by bookmaker’s odds

David Wagner has left Huddersfield by mutual consent after holding detailed discussions with the board.

The German had been with the Terriers since 2015 and was hugely successful as manager – guiding the Yorkshire club to England’s top flight in the 2016/17 season and keeping them up a year later.

However, this term Huddersfield have struggled and find themselves at the foot of the Premier League table and eight points adrift of safety.

Who are the early favourites to take over at the club according to the bookies? talkSPORT.com guides you through the potential candidates.

Sam Allardyce is unsurprisingly the early favourite to take over at the club.

The former West Ham, Everton and England boss has a history of guiding Premier League strugglers to safety and would be the obvious choice for the Huddersfield hierachy.

The second favourite for the vacant position is the person who has been put in temporary charge of the club after Wagner’s dismissal, Mark Hudson.

Hudson holds a UEFA B license and has previously managed the Under-23’s side at Huddersfield.

Carlos Carvahal, David Moyes and Alan Pardew are all the next favourites to take over the Premier League outfit.

All three have experience in England’s top flight – albeit not very successful in recent years.

Finally, Norwich City’s current boss Daniel Farke is the next in the bookies’ list of candidates to take over.

Farke is enjoying a successful season with the Canaries in the Championship, with his side sitting in third place currently.

He is priced at 12/1 by Oddschecker
