Tottenham are investigating an alleged incident of racism by one of their own supporters towards Heung-Min Son during the 1-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.
The north London side are working with season-ticket holder, James Dickens, who tweeted during the game saying: “I’ve not experienced racism at football for about 15 years.
“But today @SpursOfficial was hideous. Reported to stewards, did nothing.
“Confronted him myself and was called a c***. While I was standing next to my son. Disgusting.”
The supporter later confirmed the alleged abuse was directed at South Korea forward Son, adding:
“Spurs have been in touch and I’ll work with them to find the person. They’ve been great.”
Last month, Mauricio Pochettino said he wanted to “kill racism” after a fan threw a banana onto the pitch in their 4-2 defeat at arch rivals Arsenal.
Three Chelsea supporters were also investigated for racially aggravated public order offences during last Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg tie against Spurs.
Both clubs are on alert ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge on January 24.
