Chelsea transfer news: Deals ‘agreed’ for Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes to replace Cesc Fabregas – but will chose just one to sign

Chelsea have reportedly agreed deals in principle for both Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes.

The Blues are looking for a replacement for Cesc Fabregas who joined Monaco, managed by his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry.

The Spanish midfielder said his goodbyes at Stamford Bridge and moved to Monaco on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Fabregas was being made to wait to complete the deal as Chelsea wanted to bring in a replacement first.

However, the move was given the green light on Friday afternoon and the Blues confirmed the transfer in a statement.

Their two reported targets are Cagliari’s Barella and Zenit St Petersburg’s Paredes.

The Telegraph is reporting they have agreed deals in principle for both midfielders and must now decide who, if at all, they want to sign.

Paredes would cost £30million while Barella is priced at £40million.

The Italian media are reporting that Barella is reluctant to leave Cagliari mid-season, which will put Paredes in pole position.
