Chelsea news: Callum Hudson-Odoi will NOT sign new deal at Stamford Bridge, with youngster prepared to run his contract down

Callum Hudson-Odoi will refuse to sign a new deal at Chelsea and is prepared to run down his contract if the club’s hierarchy continue to block his move to Bayern Munich.

Hudson-Odoi, 18, has become increasingly frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities this season under Maurizio Sarri and thus wants to leave the club in a bid to secure regular football.

Bayern Munich are prepared to pay £35m for the highly-rated winger, but the Blues have resisted their advances to date.

Hudson-Odoi’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out in the summer of 2020, but he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement this time next year.

That would mean Chelsea would only be entitled to FIFA’s training compensation fee, which amounts to less than £500,000, report the Daily Mail.

David Seligman, a sports lawyer at Brandsmiths, told the Mail: “If the player were to leave at the end of his contract then the Profession Football Compensation Committee would not have any jurisdiction to determine compensation.

“This due to Chelsea and only the FIFA’s regulations concerning Training Compensation only coming into play.”

Whilst the teenager started the recent FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest and then the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham, he was dropped to the bench for the 2-1 victory over Newcastle on Saturday.

It remains his dream to move to Munich and follow in the footsteps of his friend Jadon Sancho, who has been a revelation since switching England for Germany by joining Borussia Dortmund.
