Chelsea starlet Charlie Colkett is being tracked by Aston Villa who want to sign the young midfielder on loan with the view of a permanent deal.
Villa are battling Swedish side Ostersunds for the 22-year-old, according to The Mirror, with a tug-of-war set to ensue between the two clubs.
Colkett, the England youth international, was part of the Chelsea academy side which recorded back-to-back wins in both the UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016, but he has not kicked on since.
His loan spells away from the club have not been overly impressive, and his two previous temporary exits from Stamford Bridge were both cut short early.
In 2017/18 Colkett joined Vitesse in the Netherlands but was recalled in January after only appearing 11 times, while his spell at Shrewsbury this season ended last month having not played any League One football since the opening day of the campaign.
Nonetheless, he remains highly-rated and Villa and Ostersunds are going head-to-head to secure his signature.
Villa are ready to offer Colkett guaranteed first-team football over a 12-month loan spell, with the view of signing him on a permanent basis next January.
