Arsenal vs Chelsea: Blues fans pay tribute to retiring former goalkeeper Petr Cech by unveiling banner ahead of Gunners clash

Chelsea fans unveiled a tribute to their former goalkeeper Petr Cech following his retirement announcement this week.

Cech spent 11 campaigns at the Blues where he made 494 appearances winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League and Europa League.

The goalkeeper announced on Tuesday he will retire at the end of this season.

The 36-year-old joined Arsenal in 2015 and has gone on to make 130 appearances for the north London club and prior to the match on Saturday evening, the Chelsea fans showed their appreciation for their former player who played such a large part of their success this century.

The banner read: “Thank you Petr. Chelsea Legend.”

He also holds the record for the most clean sheets in Premier League history with 202 – a stunning achievement considering the great keepers that have graced the division.

And when one of the greats decides to say goodbye to his playing career many footballers past and present from a number of teams showed their appreciation for the Czech.
