Arsenal transfer latest: Aaron Ramsey to undergo Juventus medical today, Medhi Benatia update, Leeds want goalkeeper

Arsenal have been linked with a number of players in the January transfer window as they bid to finish the season in the Premier League’s top four.

Unai Emery has revealed the Gunners cannot make any permanent signings this month, but did say they would be able to bring players in on loan.

Arsenal are keen on adding a defender and a winger to their ranks, and fresh players are needed if Saturday’s 1-0 loss to West Ham is anything to go by.

But what does all the latest transfer gossip concerning Arsenal say? Find out below…

Aaron Ramsey set for Juventus medical

The Welshman is a step closer to sealing his move to Juventus with reports saying he will undergo his medical today. (Sunday).

Reports also suggest that Juventus officials are in London to carry out the tests, as they are seemingly eager to wrap up a deal to add Ramsey to their squad this month, if possible, or in the summer.

Ramsey has signed a five-year deal with Juventus, according to sources close to the Italian club.

The deal should be finalised after Juve’s Supercoppa Italiana clash against Milan on Wednesday.

Arsenal still in pursuit of Denis Suarez

Emery is set to continue talks with Barcelona next week as he chases a deal for midfielder Denis Suarez, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Suarez worked under Emery during a 2014/15 loan at Sevilla, with whom he won the Europa League.

With the Gunners boss saying the club cannot make permanent signings, a loan deal that will include an option to buy at the end of the season is one they are hoping to strike up.

The 25-year-old has made just six appearances this season, including one as a substitute in Barcelona’s Champions League draw with Tottenham, and he’s desperate for more first-team opportunities.

Leeds want goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez

Marcelo Bielsa is determined to sign a goalkeeper this month with Bailey Peacock-Farrell failing to convince.

Martinez has played only once this season after falling behind Bernd Leno and Petr Cech in the pecking order, and the Elland Road club are checking out the glovesman, the Daily Mail reports.

However, a deal with Real Madrid for Kiko Casilla appears to be close to completion.

Mendhi Benatia on his way?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are reportedly willing to send Medhi Benatia to the Emirates in order to fast track a move for midfielder Aaron Ramsey

The 31-year-old is out of favour at the Allianz Stadium after falling down the pecking order, starting just five Serie A games this season, and the Gunners had made a bid for him earlier this window.

This could be used in Juventus’ favour, as they want Ramsey in their side for the second half of the season and Benatia may be offered to Arsenal to help hurry the deal along.
