Alexis Sanchez boasts stunning Wembley record ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Tottenham this weekend

Manchester United travel to Wembley this weekend to face Tottenham in the hope of continuing their great form under new boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

The Red Devils have won five on the bounce under the Norwegian, but face a much sterner test against Spurs, who are just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

One player who Solskjaer could start is Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean has been a shadow of his former self since his move to Manchester United, but boasts an incredible record at the national stadium which might be too hard for his boss to ignore.

Sanchez has been directly involved in nine goals in his nine appearances at Wembley Stadium, scoring eight and assisting one.

The 30-year-old has just one goal in eleven league matches this season, but his fortunes might have turned after recording two assists for his side in the FA Cup, albeit against Championship strugglers Reading.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be wary of the league’s joint top scorer Harry Kane.

Tottenham’s talisman is on fine form, having netted eight goals in as many games coming into the match.

Should Solskjaer’s team prevail – he will equal Matt Busby’s record of winning the first five league games in charge of the club.
