L’Équipe report that Angers will be willing to sell one of their Moroccan talents, Sofiane Boufal, at a valuation of €10m during this winter transfer window. Due to their low league position and reportedly ‘cold’ relationship between the club and the player during the World Cup, both parties would be happy to see the player move.
It is however, necessary for Angers to sell Boufal, as they have been given a restriction by French Football’s financial watchdog (the DNCG) on player salaries and the amount the club can spend during the next transfer window. Logically, as one of the highest earners of the squad, Boufal’s departure would also be financially welcome for the club. A move fore Boufal would require less margin for upwards manoeuvre in negotiations for the player, which is a different case for fellow countryman Azzedine Ounahi – who has been the subject of enquires from Leicester City who are preparing a €45m offer for the player.
