Update on Thea Trinidad’s WWE Signing From Last Week

It was reported earlier this week that WWE signed a number of new talent that will be reporting to the Performance Center soon. One of those new signees was Thea Trinidad, a 26-year-old female wrestler who previously competed in TNA Wrestling as Rosita. She had appeared for WWE on a few occasions before her signing, such as the time she appeared as one of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds, and she lost to Asuka on NXT last year. Apparently, Trinidad has been a talent that WWE has been trying to get signed on for a number of months now.
PWInsider reported that WWE first decided that they wanted to sign Trinidad after The Rock chose her to portray AJ Lee in the upcoming Fighting With My Family biopic film based on the family of WWE Superstar Paige. She was apparently set to debut NXT Takeover: Orlando this year in Andrade “Cien” Almas’s match, but for whatever reason, her signing was delayed and the angle was scrapped. Instead, she will be on NXT in the future still involved in a partnership with Almas. No word on if she will wrestle or work as Almas’ valet, but she could very well end up doing both.
Trinidad already has a presence within WWE. She has been on the company’s radar for a while now, and she also is engaged to Raw superstar Austin Aries. She’ll definitely be involved in many storylines to come, in fact, she has already started her storyline with Almas. Trinidad walked up to Almas in the parking lot of Full Sail on the latest episode of NXT, and slapped him without explanation. The NXT Women’s Division could definitely benefit from having some new faces thrown in there. Trinidad’s signing, and the upcoming Mae Young Classic, will definitely help get that division some attentio
