Mae Young Competitor Joining GFW? Kaitlyn & Cena Return Updates

The Mae Young Classic tournament saw 32 of the greatest female talents in the business today show off what they are capable of. Despite her limited appearances, one of the most widely-praised participants on the show was 3rd-generation wrestler Tessa Blanchard. PWInsider now reports that there are plans in place for Blanchard to sign with Impact Wrestling. It is unclear when Blanchard is officially going to debut, but the report mentions that she will likely make her first appearance on the television tapings scheduled after Bound for Glory in Ottawa this November. Tessa was eliminated in the first round of the Mae Young Classic by the eventual winner of the tournament, Kairi Sane.
John Cena came up short in his match against Roman Reigns at No Mercy, and Cena played up the possibility that he may be done with wrestling completely after the match concluded. While Cena is certainly taking time off now to get some film work done, the belief is that fans actually won’t have to wait too long for Cena to make another return to the ring. Cena is scheduled to miss the TLC pay-per-view, but he is currently penciled in to work the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November, per a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Cena has acknowledged that he is looking to stop wrestling at a full time pace, so he just as easily could be leaving once again after Survivor Series.
Former WWE wrestler Kaitlyn impressed audiences during her initial run with the company, and she even manged to score a run as the Diva’s Champion for quite some time. As pointed out recently, the former Kaitlyn hasn’t wrestled since her departure in 2014, but she recently posted photos of herself training in a wrestling ring once again. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there may be a bit more to this. The report mentions that WWE actually is interested in possibly bringing Kaitlyn back to the company. It appears that the two sides are still on great terms with each other, so Kaitlyn could very well show up on Raw or Smackdown once again very soon.
